Mr. Cowden is a member of the State Bar of California and practices in both state and federal courts. He specializes in medical malpractice defense, elder abuse, defense of civil rights claims under 42 U.S.C. §1983, premises liability, representation of physicians in Medical Board licensing matters, products liability, and legal malpractice defense.

After graduating from Princeton University in 1989, Mr. Cowden spent a year in the domestic Peace Corps where he created and supervised a program to assist low-income seniors. He then attended Santa Clara University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1993.
